Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Bodygraph API ("Service") operated by karmic.works ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

The Bodygraph API is a REST API that generates Human Design Bodygraph chart data and visualizations from birth data inputs. The Service is provided as-is for integration into your applications, tools, and workflows.

2. Accounts and API Keys

You must create an account to use the Service. Each account receives one free API key. Additional keys at higher tiers are available via paid subscription. You are responsible for keeping your API keys secure. Do not share API keys publicly or embed them in client-side code. We may deactivate keys that are compromised or used in violation of these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service for any lawful purpose. You may not:

  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
  • Use the Service to build a competing API product that simply resells our output
  • Send automated requests designed to overload or disrupt the Service
  • Use API keys belonging to another account without authorization

4. Rate Limits and Fair Use

Each API key has a daily request limit based on its tier. Exceeding your limit returns a 429 status code. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend keys exhibiting abusive patterns, even within their stated limits.

5. Pricing and Payment

Free tier keys have no cost. Paid tier keys (Pro, Enterprise) are billed monthly via Polar, our payment processor and Merchant of Record. Prices are listed in EUR and exclude VAT, which Polar calculates and collects based on your location. You can cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of your current billing period, after which the key is deactivated.

6. Custom Themes and Templates

Custom theme and template development is a separate bespoke service, quoted and delivered per engagement. Custom themes are granted to specific API keys via access controls. Ownership of custom theme designs created for you belongs to you. The underlying rendering engine and template system remain our intellectual property.

7. Output Ownership

Chart data and visualizations generated through the API using your inputs belong to you. You may use, display, modify, and distribute the output freely. The Bodygraph API name and branding remain our property.

8. Availability and Support

We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uptime or offer SLAs on standard tiers. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or updates. We provide support via email at hello@karmic.works. Response times are not guaranteed but we aim to respond within 2 business days.

9. Liability

The Service is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost revenue, data loss, or business interruption. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
